Club modules

Month of April 2026

I came up with the idea for this mod, which was recurring throughout the clubs section, and I still love the idea. Although staff goes to great lengths to prevent overly-similar clubs, there are inevitably clubs that end up being similar to once another, at least to the outside eye, every year. I thought that getting context from an officer of each club would be a good way to show outsiders that may not know a lot about either one what makes them each distinct and unique in their own right. Fashion and fashion show club, in particular, are so similar as far as their names that I felt they had to be included. In order to get dynamic and full quotes, I asked several questions about what each club did exactly and combined them in a way that made sense the most.

I liked this module because of its unique angle. In summary, opera is a niche hobby that many find to be "boring", so I focused on how the president brought her own lifelong experience in the art to make it interesting for those who don't perform. I originally wanted to use both a photo of the student teaching and on the Palm Beach Opera stage, but the company unfortunately has strict copyright rules when it comes to photography, so I needed to scrap that. Although I was critical of the photo itself but was pressed for options, I actually have grown to love it, as I appreciate how her eyes look 'lit up', so that one can tell that she's passionate about what she's talking about.

These two were my last coverage assignments of the year, which was both bittersweet and relieving. This interview in specific, I had the same issue as "Second time's a charm"-- the student said a lot which resulted in it needing to be cut down heavily. Luckily I was able to cut a lot of unnecessary information out, leaving me with a well-worded quote.

I found this interview a lot of fun as I asked a classmate of mine whose hair is in a slickback nearly every day. I was interested to hear the reasoning behind this, and I think this idea was a perfect addition to the spread all about trends. While I did have to ask a few follow-up questions, she ended up providing me with a lot of detail, and the rationale in her personal life.
